Registration - Students

Is this the new "Early Registration" process I have heard about?

No, fall 2020 and spring 2021 course enrollment are temporary measures to accommodate the need for social distancing and a fully electronic registration system. A new registration system for Yale College is currently in the works and will be used for fall 2021 course enrollment. There will continue to be a preliminary schedule period and add/drop period.

I am a Yale College student. What do I do when my Preliminary or Final Schedule has professional school courses showing as zero course credit and it doesn't provide enough credit hours to submit my schedule?

Enrollment in a professional school course is not guaranteed, therefore you will need to create and submit a schedule that contains the minimum number of credit hours required to meet academic regulations. If you later receive permission to register for a professional school course, you can remove any unwanted courses via a Course Change notice form.

What do I do if I want to submit my Yale College Preliminary or Final Schedule, but I'm on a waitlist for a discussion section?

If a student does not have a confirmed seat in a discussion or lab section, they will have to either find an available seat in another section or remove the course from their schedule. When the add/drop period begins, students will be able to review any changes to discussion or lab section offerings and find an available seat or try waitlisting again.
