Verifications

Enrollment Verification

The Office of the University Registrar has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) to provide certificates of enrollment for students in Yale College and in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Students are able to obtain a document confirming enrollment instantly by visiting the National Student Clearinghouse’s MyHub site. Enrollment certificates from the NSC display the Yale watermark.

To access your enrollment certificate, please click on the “Download Certificates” button, found on the top of the landing page after you log into the NSC MyHub.

Yale College and GSAS students who have registered for the fall 2023 term are able to obtain advanced enrollment certificates from the National Student Clearinghouse. Because the first of-term enrollment file for fall 2023 will be sent to the NSC on Sept. 17, 2023, changes in enrollment status will not appear on enrollment certificates issued by the NSC until after that date. Incoming first year students will need to wait until this time to order an enrollment verification and may use their admissions letter in the meantime.

Professional school students (Architecture, Art, Divinity, Drama, Forestry & Environmental Studies, Global AffairsLaw, Management, Medicine, Music, Nursing, Public Health) and Yale Summer Session students (not concurrently attending Yale College or the Graduate School) must obtain enrollment verifications from their own school registrars.

Degree Verification

If a degree verification is needed, please request an official transcript. Information on how to submit a transcript request can be found on our Transcript Requests page.

Beginning with graduates in the class of 2023, degree verification certificates will be available via the NSC MyHub.

Organizations and third-party requestors performing background checks or verifying degrees must submit their request online through the National Student Clearinghouse.

Professional school students (Architecture, Art, Divinity, Drama, Forestry & Environmental Studies, Global AffairsLaw, Management, Medicine, Music, Nursing, Public Health) must obtain degree verifications from their own school registrars.

NOTE:

  • Requests for any type of verification will not be taken by phone and verification will not be provided by phone.
  • The University Registrar’s Office does not create and issue customized letters regarding enrollment, degree, or other items related to academic history and transcripts. Only standard letters (if necessary) are available for issuance.
  • Letters and services are for current and former students only. Letters and services are not available for persons who were not admitted and matriculated students in Yale College or the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.
  • Questions regarding verification services can be directed to registrar@yale.edu.
