The charts below represent historically awarded Yale College course credit and are for reference only. Information on the chart is not a guarantee of enrollment approval or awarding of Yale College course credit. Yale College course credit is subject to change based on alterations to course requirements, format, or length. Academic regulations regarding enrollment in graduate and professional school course are provided in the Special Arrangements section of the YCPS.
Courses in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences
The majority of Graduate School courses have historically been awarded 1 Yale College credit. However, there are a number of Graduate School courses that are restricted from Yale College registration. If you attempt to add a certain Graduate School course in YCS and encounter a registration block, then Yale College enrollment is absolutely not permitted for that course.
There is a limited number of Graduate School courses for which Yale College students may register that do not carry 1 credit. Please see below:

Courses in Professional Schools at Yale
In order to enroll in a professional school course (except for School of Managment), you must complete a Request to Enroll in a Yale Professional School Course form. Students intending to take a course in the School of Management need only request to enroll through the SOM Course Enrollment Request portal. If a course is not listed below, it has not previously been reviewed to determine Yale College course credit value.
Note: Several professional schools register on a different timeline than Yale College. You can not add a professional school course to your registration worksheet. You can submit a Request to Enroll in a Yale Professional School Course form at any time during registration, however, you might not hear whether you are accepted into the course and whether it will count for a full credit until the add/drop period. See How to Enroll in Graduate and Professional School Courses on the registration website.
