What is the difference between a Yale College preliminary schedule and a final schedule?

The preliminary schedule is a student’s proposed schedule for the upcoming term. It provides an opportunity for the student to consult with their adviser about their plans and notify departments of their interest in course offerings. The final schedule is the official enrollment for the term.
